Fred Lawson "Redmire Quarry" Watercolour

1900 - 1920
Description

Fred Lawson was born in Yeadon, Leeds in 1888. He studied at Dewsbury and Leeds Schools of Art before moving to Castle Bolton near Leyburn in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. He formed the Castle Bolton Group of Painters and was Vice President of the Yorkshire Union of Artists.

He exhibited his pictures at the Royal Academy, Liverpool, Glasgow, the Royal Institute and other local and National galleries.

"REDMIRE QUARRY" is a charming old watercolour measuring 9"x 11". It is signed lower left and dated 1921. It is framed in a good later gilt frame with a cream conservation quality mount.
