Artist: Colum Robert Gore-Booth (1913-1959)

Title: 'Sweet Williams in a Vase'

Medium: Oil on canvas.

Size: 24'' x 20'' (unframed size in inches)

Overall size: 29.25'' x 25.25''

Signed and dated '45

Provenance: From the estate 'Sandhall' of his late wife.

An exceptional example of Colum's still life paintings, heavily influenced from his time studying in France. In a beautiful 1920's gilt and black frame.

Colum Robert Gore-Booth (1913-1959)

Born into the famous Anglo-Irish family centred at Lisadell House, Co. Sligo, his grandfather being the famous Arctic Explorer Henry Williamson Gore-Booth, 5th Baronet and his aunt Constance Countess Marklewicz, artist and political rebel who became the first woman M.P. to be elected to the House of Commons. Colum was born in Doncaster but throughout he life was much involved with Sandhall Hall in East Yorkshire, his mother’s ancestral home.
