Lester Sutcliffe "A Quiet Spot, Meanwood" Oil Painting

Description

Lester Sutcliffe was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1850. He studied art in Birmingham and became a stage painter before travelling to France and Italy.

He later settled in Whitby on the Yorkshire coast. He exhibited his pictures at the Royal Academy, Liverpool and the Royal Cambrian Academy.

"A QUIT SPOT, MEANWOOD" is an oil painting on board measuring 10"x 14" and shows a view painted close to the artist's home. It is signed lower left, inscribed with it's title on the reverse, and is contained in a good period gilt frame.
