Oil Painting Of A Horse

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A interesting oil on board depicting a horse at ease in it''s stable. The work is signed Helen Taylor, a very little known artist of the early twentieth century, I have found little evidence of her work but she may well by the artist named in a painting by John French Sloan and her work does show some influence of the Ashcan school, but this is conjecture. The painting is mounted in the original frame. C.1930.
