A fine watercolour on card, laid on canvas of a little girl. The painting has been worked in watercolours on card probably from life and has then been varnished and mounted on a canvas and framed in a wonderful quality thick mahogany frame, and must have been a treasured possession. The picture though under thick nicotine stained varnish can be seen clearly, with the little girl in he best clothes holding a posy of flowers. The whole with under the old varnish is in good condition, and the frame is a wonderful rich colour. This is a typical straight from a country house item, untouched and wonderful for it. C.1840.
