A large watercolour depicting a figure in a woodland landscape, the work is technically very competent and has a large decorative impact. The picture is signed J.W.Eyres a recorded artist who exhibited at the Royal Academy, the work is also dated 1890. The picture is also titled Epping Forest. The picture is mounted in a frame that is gilded and painted to resemble rosewood and is probably the original. The whole is in good condition, although the painting has a dark feel because of the nature of the work, a shady woodland, and the frame is worn with a few knocks giving it a good country house look.
