Artist: William Irving (1866-1943)

Title: 'A Huntsman thrown into the mud'

Medium: Oil on board.

Size: 18'' x 14'' (unframed size in inches)

Signed.

This is a lovely example of Irvings humorous oil paintings. The horse is looking on at his master's misfortune, splattered in mud!

William Irving (1866-1943):

Moved early in life to Newcastle. Studied at Newcastle School of Art under William Cosens Way. Became illustrator for the Newcastle weekly Chronicle. Later studied at the Academie Julian, Paris. Painted the famous Blaydon Races-a study from life. Exhibited at Bewick Club Newcastle, The Royal Academy and at the Laing Art Gallery.
