Naive Watercolour of Doves

A charmingly naive watercolour depicting a pair of loving doves. The watercolour dates to the early nineteenth century and is worked in a wonderful naive manner by a amateur artist on paper, probably copying a print from a book. The work has been mounted in a superb gilt swept and pierced frame. The whole is in good faded country house condition, with a few foxing marks on the painting, and the frame has a few losses and repairs, but the whole has a wonderful shabby chic, untouched feel. C.1830.
