William Greaves "Autumn East Keswick" Oil Painting on Panel

1900 - 1920
Description

William Greaves was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1852. He studied at Sheffield College of Art and went on to paint, mostly in oil, landscapes around Yorkshire and Northern England and around the Sherwood Forest area.

He exhibited between 1882 and 1920 at galleries including the Royal Academy, Liverpool, Birmingham and the Royal Cambrian Academy.

"AUTUMN, VILLAGE STREET, EAST KESWICK" is a very good example of Greaves's work.

It is an oil on panel measuring 12"x 16" and is signed and dated (19)18 lower left. It is inscribed in the artist's hand in pencil on the reverse with a title and his home address.

This is a very fine English Landscape Painting in good condition in a suitable period gilt frame.
