A fine and charming pair of Italian Mid Nineteenth Century oil on card portraits, one of a young man and the other a handsome young woman. The oils are of fine technique and quality, most probably souvenirs of a grand tour. The frames are wonderful Florentine carved wood examples, designed as entwined rose garlands tied with a bow. The frames are in untouched condition and have lost most of the gilding and some slight losses of carving, but retain a superb untouched country house look. The paintings are a really good pair of this type of miniature Italian portrait and have a great delicate period look.
