Fred Lawson Watercolour "The Road to Apedale Moor"

1900 - 1920
Description

Fred Lawson was born in Yeadon, Leeds in 1888. He studied at Dewsbury and Leeds Schools of Art before moving to Castle Bolton near Leyburn in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. He formed the Castle Bolton Group of Painters and was Vice President of the Yorkshire Union of Artists.

He exhibited his pictures at the Royal Academy, Liverpool, Glasgow, the Royal Institute and other local and National galleries.

This picture shows the road to Apedale Moor close to the artist's home.

It is in an original plain oak frame with a new conservation cream mount. On the reverse is a label for Thomas Wood & Sons Fine Art Gallery, Darlington.

The watercolour measures 10"x 14 and is in good condition.
