Owen Bowen "East Linton, Near Edinburgh" Oil Painting

Description

Owen Bowen was born in Leeds in 1873. He also lived in Robin Hood's Bay and East Keswick.

Dales and coastal scenes were a speciality and he was a member of both the Staithes and Wharfedale Groups of Painters.

Bowen exhibited widely, including works at the Royal Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Liverpool and Manchester.

"EAST LINTON near EDINBURGH" is an excellent example of the artist's work, dating from his best earlier period. It is an oil on canvas, is signed lower right and measures 10"x 14". It is contained in a good period swept frame.
