James Atherton "Boats at Whitby" Watercolour

Description

James Atherton A.R.C.A. was born in Bradford in 1869. He studied at Bradford School of Art and the Royal Cambrian Academy where he also taught. Later he became Head of Carlisle School of Art.

He exhibited widely between 1914 and 1933 including works at the Royal Academy and Royal Institute.

"BOATS AT WHITBY YORKSHIRE" is a good example of the artist's work.The watercolour measures 10"x 14" and is framed in conservation mount and a gilt frame .
