Mansion House Antiques & Fine Art has dated this piece to the 1800s.

The lower foreground delivering the depth and three diamentional perspective, which is so often difficult to achieve.
The young girl is depicted wearing a tiny looking pair of leather boots, usually hand made and sewn.

The frame is a good example from the period and has been carefully regilded in a gold leaf colour.
The painting has been placed under glass to protect from any smudges occuring and thus has maintained this example in its orignal and overall excellent condition.

A very eyecatching painting very rarely seen in this medium on such a large scale and yet as sharp and vibrant as when first produced, and perfectly captures the moment in time of bygone days.

DATE:
We date this stunning portrait around Circa 1830-1840 latest, and as it is unsigned, cannot attribute it to a particular artist, although the standard is of a professional studio.
We think this is one of the best pastels we have ever seen and had to think hard and twice about selling what is a real museum piece worth viewing.
