John Dobby Walker "Burford, Oxon" Watercolour

Description

John Dobby Walker was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1863.

He was a coach painter before obtaining his art master's certificate in Bradford then travelled abroad painting in Holland, Spain and Italy after becoming a professional artist. He exhibited widely including works at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute and Liverpool. He was on the council and became treasurer of the Society of Yorkshire Artists and died in 1925 in Kilburn, Yorkshire.

"BURFORD, OXON" is a very fine example of his work in an unusual circular format. It measures 20" in diameter and is in a quality wash/line mount and hand made English gilt frame.

It is signed and inscribed with the title.
