John Dobby Walker "The Hay Field" Watercolour

Description

John Dobby Walker was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1863.

He was a coach painter before obtaining his art master's certificate in Bradford then travelled abroad painting in Holland, Spain and Italy after becoming a professional artist. He exhibited widely including works at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute and Liverpool. He was on the council and became treasurer of the Society of Yorkshire Artists and died in 1925 in Kilburn, Yorkshire.

"THE HAY FIELD" is a very fine example of his work and has a lovely mood and atmosphere. It measures 10"x 15" and is in a quality hand made English gilt frame.

It is signed and dated 1891.
