A charming untouched print satirising matrimony, from the late georgian period, in original ebonised frame and in untouched condition, would have most likely been hung in an alehouse. The print reads as follows:
 
A poor man loaded with mischief or matrimony.
 
a monkey, a magpie and a wife
 
is the true emblem of strife
 
was ere poor man plagued with such evil
 
should a war be once more
 
I''d steer from the shore
 
and give my whole freight to the devil.
