Description

A charming antique pine chapel pew with decorative carved ends, featuring details inspired by Norman architectural forms. The pew has been stripped to reveal its lovely natural pale pine colour and finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. The shaped ends incorporate carved column and arch motifs, with further shaped detailing to the upper sections. The seat is attractively shaped and the back features a broad base board with a useful narrow shelf running along the top. A particularly characterful piece with a lovely ecclesiastical feel.

CONDITION REPORT:

Overall in good, sound condition with some staining and water marks to the lower base, as pictured. There are also some minor marks, scratches and signs of wear throughout, consistent with the age and previous use of the piece. The pine has a lovely natural colour and grain, enhanced by the fresh natural wax finish. Overall, a particularly lovely and unusual example with excellent decorative appeal.

As with all our antique furniture, the piece has been carefully inspected by our experienced carpenter and any necessary repairs or restoration work undertaken to ensure it is structurally sound and ready for use. Please study all accompanying photographs, which form an important part of the condition report.
