Pareglio & Ayres Antiques Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.

The first work depicts a cosy cottage snug or parlour interior, featuring an open brick hearth with a lit fire, a high-backed armchair, and a gateleg table positioned beneath a window with deep crimson valances.

The companion piece, which is slightly larger, captures a sunlit morning room centred on a mahogany library table displaying a prominent vase of flowers, possibly tulips, balanced by a wooden open-armchair beside a multi-paned bay window dressed with blue drapery. The reverse of this picture bears a gallery title inscription of "Cherry Blossom".

Both pieces demonstrate the precise draughtsmanship and delicate wash control characteristic of academic and accomplished amateur interior portraiture artists of the period. Unsigned. Housed in deep-profile wooden frames with gilt-finished card mounts.
Very good antique condition. The watercolour pigments remain remarkably bright and stable with no visible foxing, water damage, or fading to the central compositions. The frames and gilt mounts show minor surface wear, small scuffs, and natural patination consistent with age but remain structurally sound.
