This Regency period porcelain covered chocolate cup and matching stand comes from the Flight, Barr and Barr Worcester factory, dating between 1815 and 1820. The set comprises a tapering cylindrical cup with two pixie ear handles, a lid with a gilt flower knop, and a wide saucer, all finished in white porcelain embellished with a gilt seaweed pattern and gold borders. The pieces feature hand-painted topographical landscape panels alongside circular floral reserves set against pale blue grounds. Script marks and red titles appear on the bases. The saucer measures 16 cm wide, and the cup measures 13 cm wide across the handles. Today, this decorative porcelain item suits placement on a dining room sideboard top or within a display cabinet.

Produced between 1813 and 1840, Flight, Barr & Barr Worcester porcelain is characterized by fine bone china, rich burnished gilding, elaborate ground patterns, and hand-painted miniature panels featuring landscapes, feathers, or botanical subjects.

These pieces were crafted from fine soft-paste or bone porcelain, hand-moulded with twin handles and fitted lids, and finished with fired gold leaf gilding alongside hand-enamelled panel paintings.

Authentic items typically feature impressed factory marks such as FBB beneath a crown, or script painted marks on the underside, accompanied by extremely fine brushwork quality and precise gilding.

These items are commonly displayed within glazed china cabinets, on sideboard tops, or atop mantelpieces as standalone decorative accent objects alongside classical art.

Gilded porcelain should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild soap, avoiding abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, or immersion in hot water to protect the gilding.
