A fine early 19th century oval silhouette miniature painted on ivory, depicting a gentleman in profile wearing a mortarboard cap with tassel over a coat with a ruffled cravat tied in a bow. The portrait sits in its original oval mount and convex glass within a black papier-mâché square frame finished with the original acorn hanging ring.
