Chinese Blue and White Tibetan Script Doucai-Style Stem Cup

​Offered for sale is a fine late 19th-century Chinese porcelain stem cup, executed in vibrant underglaze blue. The exterior is meticulously painted with a band of Tibetan script characters enclosed between double-line borders, rising above an upright petal-lapped lotus border that encircles the lower body. The high, flared stem is further detailed with a delicate scrolling vine band.

The interior features a central incised seal mark within the well, surrounded by an encircling horizontal band of Tibetan script (specifically the traditional Lanydza/Lança script prayer-poem invoking peace and protection: "Peace and tranquility by day, peace and tranquility by night..."). Accompanied by a collection label from a private estate in London.
