Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
A handsome framed antique wall hanging of good proportions, measuring 89cm. The woven fragment was probably hand made using a loom, wool upon linen/canvas behind a linen mounting.
The textile fragment shows evidence of wear which probably explains why it was later hung to preserve it, now a superbly stylish decorative wall art piece.
