Description

Dramatic painting of three men in an open rowing boat battling against rough seas c.1913. Below a grey sky with rain falling at an angle and white water fulling the horizon two men struggle with the oars whilst a third older man with a determined expression grips the tiller. Good large size (28½" x 39"). Signed P.Malet and dated 1913 in the lower right hand corner. Small repair to the canvas toward the upper right hand corner, otherwise very good condition. Presented unframed on the original stretcher.
