C. 1900, Framed Gadsden Flag, ''Don''t Tread On Me'' (American).
The Gadsden Flag is a historical American banner featuring a coiled rattlesnake and the motto ''Don''t Tread on Me'' on a yellow field. Designed by American general Christopher Gadsden in 1775 during the Revolution, it originated as a symbol of unity against oppression.
This framed flag was purchased from the private collection of a State Senator in Texas, United States, who passed away at the age of 88 and had inherited the flag from his father, a Colonel in the US Army.
CONDITION:
The flag has signs of wear and age, but has been well preserved behind glass in a wooden frame.
