Antique Victorian Pitch Pine Pew C.1890

A Late Victorian pitch pine church pew, historically reduced in length, the panel back set over a thick single-plank seat with canted corners housed between pleasingly shaped and chamfered solid slab standards.
 
A compact bench with good colour and distinct ecclesiastical character, well-suited to the practical demands of a residential hallway or landing.
 
Very good antique condition with some historic surface wear consistent with age. The rear of one standard is historically pieced out at the base for functional stability following its removal from an ecclesiastical setting. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
