Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Carved Jade Mountain Sculpture to the 1930s.
The carving is exceptionally intricate, featuring a traditional pavilion set amongst stylised pine trees, rocky outcrops, bridges and winding pathways, all executed with remarkable depth and openwork craftsmanship.

Particularly striking is the quality of the carving, with superb pierced and undercut detail to the foliage and rockwork, demonstrating considerable skill. The natural variations within the jade have been cleverly incorporated into the design, enhancing the sense of depth and atmosphere.

Presented on its original carved hardwood display stand, which complements the sculpture beautifully.
A substantial decorative piece, ideal as a statement object for an interior, and highly collectable as an example of Chinese hardstone carving.
