This nineteenth-century Venetian Baroque side table takes the form of a carved walnut Blackamoor figure supporting a round top with original polychrome decoration. The dark brown and black timber shows contrasting painted highlights in warm tones along the drapery and clothing, while the circular top features a carved design simulating folded fabric with hanging tassels beneath the rim. Below the figural support rests a stepped, moulded circular base standing on small turned feet. Measuring 94 cm high by 50 cm wide and 50 cm deep, the piece functions as an accent furniture item in an empty corner, hallway or drawing room today.
