Oil Painting of Horses After Herring

A fine oil on canvas depicting horses after John Frederick Herring. The work is beautifully done to a technically high level and shows three horses in a pasture by stabling. The painting is very much in the manner of John Frederick Herring Junior (1815-1907) and is ascribed as such on the reverse. The work is signed to the lower left ‘G.Wright’ and dated 1878. The painting is in good condition and retains what appears to be the original gilt frame. The whole is a fine and decorative oil painting, with the horses particularly well painted and has a great country house style.
