A Pair of Regency Engravings.
The Pair of Early 19th century coloured engravings, being a scene of a fashionable young lady, ''The Lady of The Manor'', she stands beside a pedestal holding a book of tenant rents, the scene within a romantic garden with mature trees and a domed banqueting house in the background. The engraving with a lower text referring to her benign stewardship.
The other a scene of ''Sweet Echo'' as a young lady wearing a luxurious Regency dress, and an extravagant hat, sits beside a grotto fountain, reciting the words of a song to echo''s, the words of which are shown in the text below.
Each in the original stained pear wood frames, with gilt foliate slips holding the glazing.
Height 16 1/2 inches, 42cm.
Width 12 3/4 inches, 32.5cm.
Depth 3/4 inch, 2cm.
Circa 1800
