Arthur Tucker RBA (1864-1929) was a landscape painter in watercolours. He was born in Bristol in 1864. When Arthur was four years old his father, the artist Edward Tucker Senior, moved the family to the Lake District. Arthur was taught to draw and paint by his parents and painted landscapes and seascapes throughout the British Isles. Tucker exhibited at Suffolk Street, the New Watercolour Society and at the Royal Academy between 1883 and 1919. He was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1895. Tucker became a founding member in 1904 of the Lake''s Artists Society where he also later served as Vice-President.
''Staithes, Yorkshire'' is a watercolour measuring 8''x 12''. It is signed lower left and is mounted giving an overall size of 15''x 19''. It is unframed.
