McTague of Harrogate has dated this piece to the 1910s.
Arthur was taught to draw and paint by his parents and painted landscapes and seascapes throughout the British Isles. Tucker exhibited at Suffolk Street, the New Watercolour Society and at the Royal Academy between 1883 and 1919. He was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1895. Tucker became a founding member in 1904 of the Lake's Artists Society where he also later served as Vice-President.
The present painting "Hillside, Runswick" is a charming example showing a view on the Yorkshire Coast. Measuring 12"x 8" it is signed lower left and is in the original mount. It is unframed.
