Excellent condition.
He won an award at the 4th Domestic Industrial Exposition in 1895, and his talent was recognized by Takamura Koun (1852-1934), a judge at the time (his realistic sculptures showcase the vivid and exquisite sculpting style taught by Takamura Koun). The following year, he moved to Tokyo to receive in-depth instruction. Yamazaki Choun boasted a formidable record of awards, including a silver medal at the Paris World's Fair, and was appointed a member of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and an Imperial Household Artist.
