W.r. Bigg "Sailor Boy" Pair of Stipple Engravings 1794

Description

"A SHIPWRECKED SAILOR BOY Telling his story at a cottage door" and "THE SAILOR BOY'S RETURN From a prosperous voyage" are a fine quality pair of stipple engravings in colours, each 16"x 21" by D.Orme, after paintings by W.R.Bigg.

They were published April 24th 1794 by Walker & Brackenbury, No. 7, Cornhill.

These are very fine early impressions, the paper watermarked with the date 1794,

in old hogarth frames,
