Description

A very attractive atmospheric watercolour by James George Philp R.I.(1818-1885), inscribed on the reverse in a later hand "OFF THE CORNISH COAST."

Philp was born in Falmouth in 1816 where he lived and painted most of his life.

The picture measures 10"x 14," is signed lower right and is framed in an attractive gilt moulding.
