Marjorie Hoare (d. 1953) was a British painter working primarily in oil and watercolour during the first half of the 20th century. Hoare exhibited at a number of respected institutions, including the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club, and the R.H.A., as well as in regional exhibitions throughout Britain. Her work is characterised by a sensitive handling of light, strong compositional structure, and a particular affection for architectural settings and rural life, often painted during travels in France and the provinces. Although not widely represented at major auction houses today, her work is increasingly appreciated by private collectors for its training pedigree, honest painterly quality, and quietly confident observation.
