Executed with confident palette-knife work and rich impasto, the composition is animated by strong colour contrasts and dynamic brushwork, capturing the rugged character and changing light of the coastline for which McIntyre is well known.
Oil on canvas, signed lower left, and presented in a contemporary frame with mount. The painting is in good condition and is a fine example of McIntyre’s mature coastal work.
