Oil Painting of Irises

A decorative oil on canvas painting of irises. The work is beautifully done in bright colours and an impressionist manner, depicting a bank of irises in a garden setting. The painting is signed to the lower right with the surname Evans but the first name is illegible. The work is in excellent untouched condition and retains the original painted frame which was likely done by the artist over an old gilt frame. The frame has had some losses to the paintwork and touching in. The work does retain a label on the reverse indicating it was an exhibited piece. The whole is an exceptionally pleasing and decorative work that is ready to hang. C.1930.
