McTague of Harrogate has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The title on the reverse of the picture in a later hand reads: "NEAR LANCASTER". It is signed lower right and measures 11"x 14".
Constantine was born in Sheffield in 1875 and studied at Sheffield College of Art.
He became Director of Graves Art Gallery in Sheffield and as a member of the Sheffield School of Artists he exhibited at many good Galleries including the Royal Academy, Carlisle Academy, Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Manchester Gallery and Lancashire galleries.
