A rare quality 17th Century Oak high back Settle of superb colour, the well carved back with lunette and scrolling leaf work decoration and bearing the initials W.S.S. Having a wonderful turned base with supporting stretcher''s. Remarkably retaining the original turned fruitwood finials to the top of the crest rail, the piece stands very well with just a couple of inches added to the back legs to level it up. Wonderful untouched dry surface and golden colour to the back of the piece.
A fine piece of early English Oak Furniture most likely to have been made in Yorkshire around 1680.
