Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.

She is wearing a laurel wreath around her head and at her feet are her pair of armoured gauntlets.
This very pleasing bronze study is fully signed on the reverse of the bronze base, Ruffony.
The figure is mounted and displayed on an original cut and polished green marble plinth. The original patina is in excellent condition and displays a mid brown to dark brown colour.

Oscar Ruffony was born in 1874 in Magadino, Canton Ticino, Switzerland and died in 1946. During this time, he was renowned as a fine sculptor, producing many important works which were appreciated in collections by the general public and art lovers.
