Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian music cabinets emerged during the mid-to-late 19th century as parlour music grew in popularity across British homes. Designed specifically to store sheet music and songbooks, these cabinets incorporated open tiers, what-not shelves, or glazed cupboards with dedicated interior dividers.

Period examples were crafted using fine decorative veneers like burr walnut, rosewood, or mahogany over solid hardwood frames. Construction features included hand-turned columns, pierced timber galleries, hand-dovetailed joints, and cast brass wheel castors.

Authentic pieces feature signs of age such as natural wood shrinkage, hand-cut frame joinery, and patinated brass hardware. Original gold-stamped or stencilled compartment labels such as Songs or Dance further confirm period authenticity.

This versatile piece can be placed in an entry hall, living area, or bedroom as an occasional table. The open upper shelves accommodate table lamps and decorative objects, while the lower cabinet offers structured storage for books or vinyl records.

Dust the timber regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually to maintain moisture in the veneer. Position the item away from radiators and direct sunlight to prevent timber warping or veneer lifting.
