This landscape captures a striking view of the Grand Canal, it features a busy canal scene with gondoliers in the foreground, in the distance the facades of the Campanile San Marco complete the painting.

Housed in it's original and beautiful gilt gallery frame.

Alfred Pollentine
Many of his paintings were done in an impressionistic style.

Pollentine exhibited numerous works at several of the top galleries in England from 1861 through 1880, including two of London's most prestigious ones, the British Institution and Society of British Artists.
R. J. Pollentine and W. H. Pollentine are also recorded artists and are believed to be his father and brother.
