Arts and Crafts Period Landscape Oil Painting

A very decorative landscape oil painting dating to the Arts and Crafts period. The landscape depicted is an Autumnal scene with a river and birch trees, handled with thick impasto oils. The work retains the original mahogany mount which gives the painting a circular outline, the mount is decorated with Arts and Crafts spandrels. The outer gilt frame is modern and created to match the rest of the work. It is possible that the piece was originally part of an Arts and Crafts interior or piece of furniture. The whole is in very good condition and ready to hang. The work is a great decorative piece from the Arts and Crafts period. C.1900.
