We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Imari style in English Regency ceramics was inspired by imported Japanese export wares from the Edo period, characterised by a distinctive palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt highlights.

These pieces were typically crafted using soft-paste porcelain or bone china, shaped by hand or moulded, and hand-painted with overglaze enamels and gold leaf before undergoing a secondary kiln firing.

Authenticity is determined by examining the paste under a strong light for translucency, checking for hand-painted brushwork rather than transfer printing, and identifying period-specific pattern numbers or factory marks.

Antique porcelain can be displayed inside glass-fronted cabinets, mounted on specialized wall brackets, or integrated into table settings to add colour, texture, and historical contrast to modern rooms.

Antique porcelain should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, avoiding dishwashers, harsh chemicals, and abrasive sponges to protect the delicate hand-painted enamel and gilding.
