Description

Arthur W. Newsholme was a Harrogate artist who exhibited at the Yorkshire Union of Artists around 1920 - 1930.

A large group of his pictures was recently sold and we selected what we thought were the best and also most interesting historically.

This picture, the Fair at "KIRKBY MALZEARD, 12 Sept. 1925",was undoubtedly one of his best works. It is a charming scene in front of the Church at Kirkby Malzeard, Yorkshire, showing the fairground on the green.

It is oil on board, 8"x 10", signed on the front lower left and inscribed on reverse "KIRKBY MALZEARD, 12 Sept. 1925"
