George Cammidge (Scarborough) Oil on Canvas

Description

We are pleased to offer this quality oil on canvas by the Scarborough painter George Cammidge.

Cammidge was born in Withernsea near Hull in 1846. He studied and lived in Scarborough where he died in 1916.

The picture is an attractive view looking out to sea with a couple of figures in the middle distance. It is inscribed with an original inscription on the reverse "Near Stainton Dale Looking to Hack Fall" and is signed and dated 1899 on the front.

It is in good original condition, the canvas measures 20"x 30" and is containes in a later hand made gilt frame.
