Description

Impressively proportioned painting of waterfowl in oil on canvas by the Spanish artist Ira Monte (b.1918). Very nearly five feet wide. Featuring a pair of swans, an ibis and a Muscovy duck on a river with an overhanging tree from which swoops a golden oriole . Very well painted in an early 19th.c. illustrative style typical of the artist's work. Signed in the lower right hand corner of the canvas. Presented as found within a moulded and gilded wooden frame. In excellent condition.
