Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
On the reverse is a label which states this is by the French artist Emile Jean Horace VERNET (“Horace Vernet”) born in 1789, who came into prominence during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. About 8ins x 11ins including the modern (and rather disappointing) frame!
