Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 1900s.

Believed to date circa 1900 with traditionally a list off top and folding base, the top has been secured beneath the lid, which is accessible from beneath, it still has its original hinges if anyone would want to reinstate its folding capability.

A splendid octagonal top of the rare, exotic amboyna timber with a central star inlay and native specimen block inlaid to the edges. Please note, there is a small loss to the top, this isn’t damage but an area where the root section has come loose, available as it is but, we may end listing and consign to our workshop to replace, still in 2 minds, priced sensibly.

An otherwise very original and rare Moorish table of delightful function and form, an interior design piece of considerable decorative appeal for a classic or contemporary space.
